My area was supposed to get relatively lightly hit - half a foot to a foot of snow by the end of the day.

Well, it's just 10:30 am and the snow is up to my knees and the white ($*&%$ is still coming down. And down. And down.

Sorry, I was only looking at the models for the Maine Wilderness not south central NY.

Clearly you got your maps swapped.

We're close to 3 feet here.

We got roughly 18 inches. Rough guestimate. Blew and drifted too much for an accurate reading. 18 was the average depth though there were places with drifts 3 ft deep. Some idiot downhill parked on the street. City didn't tow though they state they would. So, city punished all of us by only plowing one side of our street. As they already use a bulldozer to clear our dead-end hill, surely they could have 'accidentally' plowed the offender down to the bottom of the hill and buried it in snow. It would have been a fitting punishment.
