Alternate Tsunami Aid Sites
Dec. 28th, 2004 12:23 pmJust heard on NPR that the estimates are up to 44,000+ dead, many more without food or shelter or clean water.
The Red Cross/Red Crescent site seems to be overwhelmed; I haven't been able to get through at all.
OTOH, the sites for the American Friends Service Committee, the United Methodist Southeast Asia Emergency Fund, and (I'm sure) various other charities less well-known than the Red Cross are still accessible.
