Not to pick on you as a male, dear friend; I know your sympathies are heartfelt, and I do appreciate them.
But I am suddenly inspired to riff the line from the PotC: "You like pain? Try wearing a corset." to "You like pain? Try cramps and bloating with headache, fatigue, and mood swings."
My mother and I were talking about this, and now I'm not looking forward to menopause. Apparently hers, at least, is amounting to several consecutive years of the bloating and a somewhat modified version of the cramping, complete with an augmented version of the cranky.
I think I'd rather stick with being 75% not-in-pain and sane. *shudder*
